Depicted are German paratroopers (winter uniform) with 10.5cm LG42 & 8cm s.G.W.34 at the time of the 2nd World War

During the Second World War 1939-1945, the Fallschirmjägertruppe was operationally deployed in 1940 in the Weserübung operation, the attack on Denmark and Norway and in the Western campaign in Belgium and the Netherlands, with the capture of airfields and bridges on marching roads, in cooperation with the 22. In 1941, during the Balkan campaign in Greece, it was deployed both in the capture of the bridge of Corinth during a tactical airborne landing to enable subsequent army units to continue their advance, as well as in the largest airborne operation during Operation Merkur on the island of Crete.
